The Magnolia Foundation

6:30 PM - May 1, 2024

Bixler Chapel - Madison Church of Christ

Madison, TN

Matt and Macy Collins live in Cookeville, TN, and are the parents of three girls: Hattie, Lainey, and Davie. Matt and Macy founded the Magnolia Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves families who have lost children. The Foundation was organized after the Collins family lost their oldest daughter, Hattie, when an EF4 twister slammed into the Cookeville area on March 3, 2020, killing five children and 14 adults.

Before their work with the Magnolia Foundation, Matt worked in full-time ministry, most recently at the Collegeside Church of Christ, while Macy worked in the Putnam County School System. Their hope with the Magnolia Foundation is to walk alongside those who experience child loss by helping to meet the practical and emotional needs of grieving parents.

Hospice: It’s a word that instills anxiety and fear in many people because they equate it with hopelessness and “giving up.” However, hospice is a philosophy of care that addresses patients' and their loved ones' physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs. This concept of care focuses on relieving pain, providing comfort, and increasing patients' quality of life.

Spend time with an award-winning hospice nurse, Michelle. She will explain five hospice myths and share remarkable stories of end-of-life experiences with the patient and her family. Michelle provides practical end-of-life information for yourself and your loved ones. This is an important Stories of Amazing Grace that affects all of us.
